Alumni Engagement Coordinator
Seattle University Communication Department
September 2019 - June 2021
In my junior year, I was hired to be the Alumni Engagement Coordinator for the Communication Department at my school. The position had been created the year before as a way to improve the almost non-existent relationship with department alumni. Along with the position, the department also created an alumni mentorship program that matches current juniors and seniors with department alumni. For the past two years, I have served in the position which includes running the mentorship program, planning and putting on events and sending out bi-annual newsletters. I have also spent most of my time in this position virtually so I had to learn how to navigate virtual connections and resources.
Some highlights of the role were:
-
Running a mentorship program of around 35 pairs of students and alumni
-
Putting on 10 events (all but one completely virtually)
-
Emailing department updates to our 1000+ alumni list.
Summer Analyst (Marketing/PR)
Female Founders Alliance
June - July 2020
In one of my spring quarter classes junior year, Leslie Feinzaig, CEO of the Female Founders Alliance came to speak to my Multimedia Entrepreneurship class. She mentioned that they were launching an internship program for students who lost internship opportunities due to the pandemic. I applied on a whim and end up being chosen to be one of the 12 interns out of over 100 applicants. All interns were set to be matched with a company within the alliance. Because of my public relations experience, FFA asked me to work part-time with them and part-time with the company I was matched with, Zeta. In my work with FFA, I was able to produce blog content and assist in planning for their annual “Champion Awards.”
Some highlights of the role were:
-
Creating a list of influential leaders for the company to reach out to work with
-
Preparing and posting three months worth of blog content
Social Media Intern
Zeta
June - July 2020
Alongside FFA, I also worked as a social media intern for Zeta. Zeta is a female-founded startup that helps couples manage their finances better. I was brought onto the team to help automize their social media accounts in order to make it easier for a full time content manager to handle once they hired one. The main platforms I focused on were Instagram and Pinterest. I created content catered to each day of the week and scheduled it out for the following six months. At the end of my internship, I was actually able to onboard the new full-time content manager and teach her what I had learned in my time.
Some highlights of the role were:
-
Billy Porter liked the Instagram post I had created about him and his husband
-
Writing an article to be published on their website about celebrity couples’ advice
-
Learning how to do keyword and SEO research

The summer after my sophomore year, I was hired as a public relations intern for Evado PR, a small firm in Seattle. I spent the summer communicating with media outlets about upcoming clients' events, completing press releases and writing social media captions for client accounts. Some of the clients I worked with included the Washington Blueberry Commission, Shiro’s Sushi and Ray’s Cafe.
Some highlights of the role were:
-
Drafting captions for Instagram and Facebook posts about different offerings at Shiro’s
-
Creating a press release about the annual shellfish festival that happens at Ray’s
